Trojan Tennis wins Sectional

For the second consecutive season, the girls tennis team has won a Sectional Championship. With a tough draw to the finals, playing on three consecutive days, the girls prevailed. Wednesday night was supposed to be round 1, but mother nature had other plans as we had to postpone just as the Trojans were ready to take the court. Back at it Thursday against Knightstown, the Trojans won 4-0. Next up, Friday against the Shenandoah Raiders, the Trojans prevailed 3-2. Into the Championship round, the Trojans would take on Blue River and would again prevail 3-2....Sectional Champions! Round 1 vs Knightstown 1S - Peyton Blessinger won 6-2, 6-1 2S - Ashlynn Blessinger won 6-0, 6-1 3S - Chelsie Groce won 6-0, 6-0 1D - Emma Harris/Cadence Armacost won 6-0, 6-0 2D - Lauren Gilman/Lydia Razor did not finish due to rain Semi-finals vs Shenandoah 1S - Peyton Blessinger won 6-2, 6-0 2S - Ashlynn Blessinger won 6-0, 6-0 3S - Chelsie Groce lost 4-6, 2-6 1D - Emma Harris/Cadence Armacost won 6-3, 6-3 2D - Lauren Gilman/Lydia Razor lost 2-6, 1-6 Championship vs. Blue River 1S - Peyton Blessinger lost 6-4, 1-6, 1-6 2S - Ashlynn Blessinger won 6-0, 6-2 3S - Chelsie Groce won 6-4, 6-1 1D - Emma Harris/Cadence Armacost won 6-0, 6-1 2D - Lauren Gilman/Lydia Razor lost 0-6, 2-6 The Trojans will travel to Mt. Vernon for the semi-finals of the Regional to take on Centerville at 5:00.
