Tuesday was less wind and more sunshine, but still a little chilly. The girls defeated a very good Connersville team that returned all 3 singles players from a sectional champion team from a season ago. Sophomores Peyton and Ashlynn Blessinger were dominant in a #1 and #2 singles and sophomores Cadence Armacost and Emma Harris came back from a set down to defeat their opponents in 3 sets. 1S - Peyton Blessinger won 6-3, 6-2 2S - Ashlynn Blessinger won 6-0, 6-3 3S - Watkuweis Watson lost 0-6, 0-6 1D - Emma Harris/Cadence Armacost won 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 2D - Lauren Gilman/Chelsie Groce lost 3-6, 2-6 The JV also picked up another good one, 6-4, over the Spartans. Singles winners were Cloe Poe and Adalyn Vail and doubles teams of Lydia Razor/Kaylee Typton, Laynie Lawson/Evelyn Bergacs, Emmarie Murphy/Catherine Lanzer, and Rylee Miller/Kyla Abbott. Both records are now 2-0 on the season and we travel to Batesville tonight to take on Oldeburg Academy at 5:30.
