New Castle High School

It was a chilly day in Richmond on Saturday, but the Trojan Tennis team had an awesome day. The field was made up of Connersville, East Central, Northeastern, Richmond, Southport and New Castle. Southport was unable to compete due to player availability leaving the field with 5 teams. The Trojan JV stepped up and played where Southport would've been to keep the draws at an even number. All five of our varsity positions won at least two matches on the day with #3 Singles Ashlynn Blessinger winning her flight and #2 Doubles Cadence Armacost/Teagan Brown champions of that flight. 2nd place finishes came from Peyton Blessinger at #2 Singles and Cloe Poe at #3 Singles from our JV squad. Morley Blessinger took 3rd place and Payton Dolce from our JV squad took 5th place at #1 Singles. Lauren Gilman from our JV team took 5th place at #2 Singles. Our #1 Doubles team of Emma Harris/Jaylee Bush took 3rd place going 2-1 on the day.
