When working on the schedule for the 2024 season, one of the goals was to challenge this team with tough competition. We have a group of talented girls, but they are also incredibly competitive. Oldenburg Academy is a team that was added because of their strong tradition and just two seasons removed from making it to State. The #1 and #3 singles players from that state team are seniors on this years team so we knew this match would be a challenge. We played a great match and swept the singles courts, all three in straight sets, stepping up to that challenge. Morley played her most complete match of the season against a very good player. Peyton and Ashlynn continue to lock down the #2 and #3 singles courts. Our two doubles teams were switched up a bit today, but played great, losing in very close matches. Freshmen Emma Harris and Lauren Gilman got their first taste of varsity action at #1 doubles and #2 doubles respectively and played outstanding. Jaylee Bush and Teagan Brown also played really good today. A great day for the Trojans. 1 Singles - Morley Blessinger won 6-2, 6-3 2 Singles - Peyton Blessinger won 6-3, 6-2 3 Singles - Ashlynn Blessinger won 6-2, 6-2 1 Doubles - Jaylee Bush/Emma Harris lost 4-6, 3-6 2 Doubles - Teagan Brown/Lauren Gilman lost 6-7(2), 6-3, 10-12 Payton Dolce played great in getting a win at JV singles. Varsity record is now 4-1 and will host Shenandoah at 4:30 on Monday, host Pendleton on Tuesday, and travel to Jay County on Thursday.
