Kelsie Patton shut down Franklin County, throwing a complete game shutout and leading New Castle Trojans Varsity to a 10-0 victory on Thursday
Hannah Essert led New Castle Trojans Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Essert drove in runs on a home run in the third and a double in the fourth.
New Castle Trojans Varsity notched six runs in the fourth inning. New Castle Trojans Varsity big bats were led by Alyssa Semler, Essert, and Katie Cooper, all driving in runs in the frame.
One bright spot for Franklin County was a single by Brewer in the first inning.
Patton earned the win for New Castle Trojans Varsity. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out 12.
Ferman took the loss for Franklin County. She allowed 12 hits and ten runs over four innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
New Castle Trojans Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Essert had a four bagger in the third inning.
New Castle Trojans Varsity racked up 12 hits. Essert, Cooper, and Machaela Hamby all managed multiple hits for New Castle Trojans Varsity. Essert led New Castle Trojans Varsity with three hits in three at bats. New Castle Trojans Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Mackenzie Bridgeman made the most plays with 11.
Franklin County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bolos had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
