New Castle Trojans Varsity struggled to get their offense going on Tuesday, getting easily dispatched by Pendleton Heights, 11-1.
Jordan Benefiel got the win for Pendleton Heights. She went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out nine and walking one. Brinkley Epperson threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Madie Harter took the loss for New Castle Trojans Varsity. She lasted five and a third innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while striking out three.
Pendleton Heights hit two home runs on the day. Chloe Closser went for the long ball in the third inning. Mickala Winans went yard in the sixth inning.
Harter, Mackenzie Bridgeman, Katie Cooper, and Alyssa Semler each collected one hit to lead New Castle Trojans Varsity.
Pendleton Heights scattered nine hits in the game. Winans, Kylie Davis, and Closser all managed multiple hits for Pendleton Heights. Winans went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Pendleton Heights in hits. Pendleton Heights didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kieli Ryan had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.
