The Trojans got off to a good start getting the kickoff and driving it right down the field to score a touchdown by Aiden Bradley. Bradley ran for a 30 yard touchdown to give the Trojans a 6-0 lead over Muncie. The Muncie team had the ball for the rest of the 1st quarter.
The second quarter the Trojans defense came up big to stop the Muncie team on the 25 yard line to get the ball back. Muncie ran the entire second quarter clock out, and the Trojans finally got the ball back with 20 seconds to go. The Trojans just ran the clock out to end the half leading Muncie 6-0.
At the half, the Trojans made defensive and offensive adjustments. On the offensive end we wanted to block a few plays we run differently based on what Muncie was doing. Defensively, we wanted to continue to play bend don’t break defensive and continue to tack as a team. Muncie came out of the half and marched right down the field to score. The Trojans got the ball back and Aiden Bradley answered with another touchdown to give the Trojans a 12-8 lead over Muncie.
To start the fourth quarter the Trojans did a really nice job of controlling the football and running the ball down the field and controlling the clock. On the defensive end the Trojans did a great job of tackling and making Muncie throw the football which they did not want to do. Aiden Bradley got loose again for a 40 yard touchdown run. The Trojans beat Muncie 20-8.
Offensively, the Trojans did a great job of taking care of the football and running the ball for a total 355 yards on the ground. The line of Michael York, Chloe Vaughn, Sam Morris, Wyatt Maiden, Jayden Gilpin, and AJ Sizemore did a fantastic job all night. Defensively, the Trojans played hard and did a good job gang tackling all night. The Trojans defense forced 3 fumbles on the night and recovered 2 of them. Trey Akers did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage and making 3 tackles in the back field. Brevan Thrine and Jonathan Eberhart did a great job on the ends and making several tackles. This win was a great team effort with multiple people making big plays.
The Trojans were led in rushing by Aiden Bradley with 155 and 3 touchdowns. Jonathan Eberhart had 90 yards on the ground. Brevan Thrine ran for 75 yards. Daniel Davis added 30 on the ground. Chloe Vaughn had 8 yards. Aiden Bradley completed 3 passes on the night for a total of 30 yards. Jonathan Eberhart caught 2 for 12 yards and Daniel Davis caught 1 for 18 yards.
The Trojans record is 1-0 and will play at home against Delta next Wednesday, August 29. Go Trojans!!!
