The New Castle Trojans 8th Grade Football team beat Greenfield-Central in dominate fashion 28-7. Offensively, the Trojans did a great job of taking care of the football and running the ball for a total 236 yards on the ground and threw the ball for 148 yards. The line of Michael York, Chloe Vaughn, Wyatt Maiden, Jayden Gilpin, and AJ Sizemore did a great job upfront. Defensively, the Trojans played hard and did a great job getting pressure on Greenfields quarterback all night. AJ Sizemore dominated on the defensive line having 6 sacks on the quarterback and multiple tackles for loss on the running back. Jonathan Eberhart and Haidyn Bulmer both had multiple sacks and tackles for a loss on the night. Trey Akers did a good job clogging up the middle making sure Greenfield did not have any run lanes. Brevan Thrine and Peyton Southerland did a nice job covering the wide receivers and keeping everything in front of them. This was a great win for the Trojans and will prepare to take on Pendleton Heights next week.
The Trojans were led in rushing by Aiden Bradley with 114 and 1 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns and converted one two point conversion. Jonathan Eberhart had 88 yards on the ground with one rushing touchdown and converted a two point conversion. Daniel Davis ran for 23 and Brevan Thrine ran for 11 yards. Aiden Bradley completed 5 passes on the night for a total of 125 yards. Jonathan Eberhart caught 4 for 125 yards and one touchdown. Quentin Boatright caught 1 for 23 yards and a touchdown.
The Trojans record is 2-3 and will play at Pendleton Heights Middle School next Wednesday, September 26. The 8th grade game will start at approximately 6:45pm. Go Trojans!!!
