In the second match of the season, the Lady Trojans defeated Shelbyville by a score of 193 to 225 bringing their season record to 2 and 0. In a complete team effort, Annie Gillock led the Trojans with an impressive 37 earning her low medalist honors. The runner-up medalist for the meet with a score of 50, was New Castle’s Faith Firle. Earning third-place honors of the match was Macayla McGowan with a score of 51. Also scoring for the Trojans for the respectable team score of 193, was Aadra Norrod with the score of 55. Also playing varsity for the Trojans was freshman Maddy Meek scoring a 65.
Scores for the Lady Bears of Shelbyville were Karaline Richards, 53, Robin Carpenter, 59, Madison Richards, 56, Jill Lynville, 6, Kalee Tackett, 57.
The Trojans had three junior varsity players competing in their very first meet. Lylah Hutson and Maggie Lewis both scored 70 and Trinity Kibby scored a 91.
The Lady Trojan’s next meet will be Monday at 4:30 at Winding Branch Golf Club in Cambridge City where the Trojans will take on the Lady Eagles of Lincoln High School.
