New Castle High School vs Rushville Consolidated High School
17 46

The girl Trojans put three girls in front of Rushville’s first and another five before the Lion’s second finisher. The rest of the NC squad finished before their opponent’s third and final competitor. Corinne Harvey led the Trojans for the third straight time and earned her first individual victory and blue ribbon, finishing in 13:25. She was just fourteen seconds shy of her PR despite the heat and running by herself from a quarter mile on. Had Harvey let up too much, she would have felt the presence of teammate, Anya Amman, who dropped 24 seconds from her best a week ago. Amman was just 14 seconds behind her teammate at the end, earning the runner-up spot. Mireya Guerrero was third in 14:00. Following the first Rushville runner were Chloe Vitatoe and Sydney Matthews to wrap up the scoring points. Kaitlyn Crabtree and Sylvie Terrell finished out the team’s top seven, receiving blue ribbons along with the scoring members for the team’s victory. Matthews’ 46 second drop was a huge PR and first time in the team’s top five. Vitatoe’s and Lily Farmer’s times were also close to PR’s and encouraging to see in the heat and with less competitors to push them along.
