On a day when the New Castle Tennis Team started a new tradition of recognizing the annual Silver Anniversary Team, the boys went 1-1 in our very competitive invitational. In the first round, we faced a tough and experienced Northeastern team. Trent Alfrey got the lone point for the Trojans at #3 Singles. But both doubles teams lost very close 3rd set tiebreakers that could have gone either way to determine the team outcome of the match. In the second round, we faced another tough opponent in Hamilton Heights and we swept all three singles to win the match 3-2. All in all, a great day and we gained valuable experience at several positions.

1st Round: 4-1 loss to Northeastern
1S – Josh Martin lost 2-6, 2-6
2S – James Harris lost 2-6, 2-6
3S – Trent Alfrey won 6-3, 6-1
1D – AJ Abrams/Blake McKown lost 4-6, 7-5, 4-10
2D – Aidan Sipes/Sam Maddy lost 6-7, 7-6, 8-10

2nd Round: 3-2 win over Hamilton Heights
1S – Josh Martin won 7-6, 6-0
2S – James Harris won 6-3, 7-5
3S – Trent Alfrey won 5-7, 6-2, 10-3
1D – AJ Abrams/Blake McKown lost 4-6, 0-6

The Trojans are now 3-1 on the season and back on the court Tuesday at Greenfield Central for our first HHC match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 5:30. Thank you to the Class of 1995 for making the Silver Anniversary recognition a special event.
