We placed 5th in the Muncie Central regional played at Players Club in Yorktown. Score can be found at this link: http://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/boys%20sports/boys%20golf/2017-18/201718MuncieCentralRegional.pdf

As you can see we were just 8 strokes out of going to state. Brady Wheeler did qualify for state shooting a 75. He played very well. Trevor Turner shot a 78, Spencer Stewart a 82 and Nolan Beam an 85. Just some made putts and not getting any penalty strokes would have gotten us to state or close. We just always run into some kind of trouble at Players Club. If we could ever play it smarter and manage it better we would make it to state. We just did not play well enough to advance. Overall, we have a very good season and I enjoyed this group of players very much. Now they need to work in the off season on their games. They need to be on the golf course everyday up to when the snow starts working on their weaknesses. Next year we have a good group of players coming in and spots will be fought for really hard and they will need to be playing good to secure a varsity spot.

Brady shot a 80 the first day putting him in a tie for 45th with 3 other players. He got off to a rough start triple bogie on 10, double on 11 and bogie on 12. After that I was very proud of him, he settled down and starting getting pars and birdies. Finished the back strong just being 6 over par. On the front he shot a 2 over 38 which gave him the 80.

The second day he shot a 92 and finished tied for 80th with a score total of 172. He did not play his best, but again he was at state and the course if very tough. He fought all day to get his game going and did not give up. I have to hand it to him he kept his cool and maintained composure during some difficult holes. He will be back he is a great player.
