New Castle Trojans Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-2 loss to Noblesville on Tuesday. Noblesville took the lead on a home run in the first inning.
The New Castle Trojans Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Noblesville, giving up 11 runs.
Noblesville fired up the offense in the first inning. Noblesville scored three runs when Cade Nelis homered.
Noblesville scored four runs in the third inning. Matt Peek, Nelis, and Brady Walden all drove in runs in the frame.
Jared Crandall earned the victory on the hill for Noblesville. He surrendered two runs on three hits over four innings, striking out five. CJ Stuckey and Jared Michael entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Cole McDaniel took the loss for New Castle Trojans Varsity. He lasted three innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out three.
New Castle Trojans Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Rylan Huntley had a four bagger in the third inning.
Huntley, Dakota Durick, Colin Holcomb, and McDaniel each managed one hit to lead New Castle Trojans Varsity.
Noblesville racked up 11 hits. Zach Gruver, Walden, Cooper Miles, and Nelis all had multiple hits for Noblesville.
