Rylan Huntley threw a shutout to lead New Castle Trojans Varsity past Yorktown 1-0 on Saturday.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Huntley struck out six, while Hook sat down nine.
New Castle Trojans Varsity got on the board in the second inning. Logan Cline drove in one when he singled.
One bright spot for Yorktown was a single by Taylor in the fourth inning.
Huntley got the win for New Castle Trojans Varsity. He lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six.
Hook took the loss for Yorktown. He surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Huntley, Cline, Colin Holcomb, Nic Besecker, and Cole McDaniel each collected one hit to lead New Castle Trojans Varsity.
Yorktown was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. McNamara had the most chances in the field with nine.
