It was good for eleventh place. Nicholas Smoot followed in twelfth and fourth for the team in just his third race, continuing to gain experience and confidence. He dropped another 68 seconds. Darin Reynolds, moving up throughout the race , placed thirteenth with a 35 second drop. That gave the team their 46 points, good for second behind Connersville with 25, and ahead of Centerville with 62. Sam Mathis dropped a huge 73 seconds after small improvements each of the past four meets. He ran sixth for the team, and helped push up Centerville’s score as he was ahead of their third scoring runner. Eli Murphey, also with an impressive race and 42 second drop, helped as he was NC’s seventh finisher and was ahead of the Bulldogs’ fourth scoring member. Nathan Shaffer managed a 14 second drop, and Sammy Huynh dropped another 23 seconds after last week’s incredible 88 second drop. Congratulations to the team members on their successes.
Both the boys and girls teams are to be commended for their display of sportsmanship in cheering on the latter finishers of the opponents as well as their own teammates.
