The New Castle boys ran away from host Knightstown, but were third behind Pendleton and Mt. Vernon. The Arabians, behind their one-two placings, totaled just 21 points for the victory. Mt. Vernon had 49, the Trojans 63, and Knightstown 104. Jaykwan Guerrero led NC with a strong third place showing and finish time of 11:53. The rest of the Trojan’s top seven were new to that role as departing eighth graders held seven of the eight spots last year. Gavin Frazier ‘showed big gains as he worked his way up throughout the race for tenth place. In their first cross country races ever, Bradley Henderson and Logan Slinker were 14th and 17th respectively. Harry Calloway finished the team scoring in 19th with a personal record time of 13:50. Niki Greive had his best season debut race finishing 25th. Marshall Snell, in his first race, finished in the top half of the field of 64 runners. Congratulations to all of the new and returning runners for fine efforts in this first meet.
