New Castle High School vs Rushville Consolidated High School
42 19

Rushville’s Charlie Sterrett led his Lions to victory over the Trojans with an impressive individual performance in very hot conditions. Despite the 90 degree temperature, there were runners from both teams competing hard. Colton Lawson was the first Trojan finisher, leading the team from the start in an attempt to keep the team in contention. His efforts were impressive and were rewarded with a Personal Record and 4th place finish. Bryceton Cheeseman was just ten seconds back in fifth, just 2 seconds off his best. A pack of five NC runners, separated by a mere eleven seconds, fell just short of running down a pair of Rushville’s top seven, finishing tenth through fourteenth . Included in that group, all with personal records or bests for the year, were Ethan Ma, Marshall Snell, Darren Reynolds, Evan Millikan, and first time racer, Nicholas Smoot. Ma’s time showed the biggest drop, slicing 40 seconds off his best. Sam Mathis had his third PR in a row, squeaking out another few seconds, and Sammy Huynh just missed his best.
