The NC boys again showed they are improving by nearly every member dropping their times even more dramatically than the fast course would dictate. It was not enough to catch Delta, who won the meet, but put the Trojans well ahead of host Yorktown. Delta took the first two spots, followed by NC’s Gavin Frazier and Jaykwan Guerrero. Next for the Trojans were Bradley Henderson 8th, Logan Slinker 12th, Harry Callaway 13th, Marshall Snell 15th, and Niki Greive 22nd in the 51 person field. Coach Dye sites his highlights as seeing the team members fight and win the close battles in this meet as well as seeing big drops in times. “While Delta was too strong for us up front, our top five all won the tight races over any opponents they were near at the finish. Marshall Snell ran sixth for us today and had the most impressive improvement on the day. Abe Pierce showed nearly the same gains. Jonathon Wells had his best run of the year by quite a bit as well. I look forward to seeing these guys compete at our hilly Memorial Park course this coming Monday as they just keep improving. We lost six of our top seven from last year, but this team continues to show the potential to surprise some opponents.
