Game Recap

The New Castle Lady Trojans fell to Richmond Tuesday night in Richmond, 56-50. The Lady Trojans dug a hole early with foul trouble, 16 turnovers, and just 5-24 shooting in the first half, but they showed a lot of fight in the second half, cutting a 17-point Red Devil lead down to just 3 points midway through the 4th quarter, before ultimately running out of time.

The Lady Trojans were once again paced by Junior Guard Cameron Tabor, who with 21 points has now posted five consecutive 20+ point games to start the season. She also added 5 rebounds. Sophomore Forward Megan Mills also scored in double-figures with 13 points, plus she added 6 rebounds (5 of them offensive) and 6 steals. Junior Guard Darriyn Hackbarth also contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds. The Lady Trojans as a team created 19 steals in the game, a season high.

Richmond was led by Senior Guard Braxtyn Hurley with 14 points, Senior Forward Anna Creech with 12 points, and Senior Guard Kalianna Lauderdale with 10 points. Another defensive note: the Lady Trojans have not allowed an opposing player to score more than 14 points in a game through five games this season.

The Lady Trojans are back in action with two road games this weekend. First, the Lady Trojans travel to Muncie Southside Friday to take on the Muncie Central Bearcats. The game has been move from the Muncie Fieldhouse to Southside due to storm damage on 11/5. On Saturday, the Lady Trojans travel to Delta High School for their second HHC matchup of the season, this time with the Eagles. JV tip time for both nights is 6:00 p.m., with the Varsity contest to follow. Please come out and support the Lady Trojans!!!

The New Castle Lady Trojans fell to Westfield Friday night, by a score of 48-35. Leading the way for the Lady Trojans was Junior Guard Cameron Tabor, who scored 22 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Sophomore Forward Megan Mills added 7 points and 6 rebounds, while Sophomore Guard Cloie York grabbed 5 rebounds as well.

Westfield got double-figure efforts by Senior Forward Annabelle O’Hair (12 points) and Senior Guard Megan Rops (10 points).

The Lady Trojans are back in action Tuesday night at Richmond High School. The Junior Varsity game begins at 6:00 p.m., with the Varsity contest to follow. Please come out and support the Lady Trojans!!!

Game Recap

The New Castle Lady Trojans lost a heartbreaking overtime contest to conference rival Pendleton Heights on Tuesday night, by the score of 50-49. Sophomore Ally Hall scored for the Arabians with just under seven seconds left, and the Lady Trojans couldn’t get a shot with the time remaining. New Castle led 33-26 heading into the fourth quarter, but was just 4-10 from the free throw line on the night, and 2-5 in those final ten minutes.

Leading the way once again was Cameron Tabor. The Junior Guard led all scorers with 24 points, but she also had her first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds, in addition to four assists. Senior Forward Haylie Graham was also in double figures with 12 points, and Senior Forward MacKayla Huckeby added 9 rebounds (4 offensive).

Pendleton Heights didn’t place anyone in double figures, but all seven players who entered the game each scored at least six points or more.

The Lady Trojans are back in action at home on Friday against Westfield High School. The Junior Varsity game begins at 6:00 p.m., with the Varsity contest to follow. Please come out and support the Lady Trojans!

The Lady Trojans of New Castle played for a State Championship in Class 3A on Saturday, November 4th in front of a packed house at Ball State University- Worthen Arena. The Lady Trojans took on the Lady Braves of Brebeuf Jesuit and defeated them in 3 sets – 25-11, 25-20, 25-15 to be named Class 3A State Champs! WOW, what a journey and season. The Lady Trojans finished their season with a 34-6 record. Congrats to the 2017 Lady Trojans!

Game Recap

The New Castle Lady Trojans evened their record at 1-1 Friday night by knocking off preseason Class 3A #4 Rushville 52-47 at Rushville. The Lady Trojans battled illness and first half foul trouble to get the win, plus they had significant contributions from their entire roster.

New Castle Junior Guard Cameron Tabor led all scorers with 28 points, plus she grabbed 8 rebounds and collected 6 steals. Junior Guard Darriyn Hackbarth also scored in double figures for the Trojans with 12 points, while Senior Forwards Haylie Graham and MacKayla Huckeby each added 5 rebounds. Rushville placed two players in double figures. Junior Post Taylor Browning scored 14 points, while Junior Forward Allie Smith added 10 points.

The Lady Trojans are back in action at the Fieldhouse Tuesday, November 7th, with an HHC matchup versus Pendleton Heights. Please come out and support your Lady Trojans!!!
