Two Pitchers Team Up as Trojans Shuts Out Daleville
Trojans defeated Daleville 1-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Nathan Hacker struck out Williams to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. hurlers for Trojans struck out ten, while Daleville pitchers sat down two.
Trojans captured the lead in the second inning. Drew Barber’s sac fly scored one run for Trojans.
A single by Smith in the second inning was a positive for Daleville.
David Bennett earned the win for Trojans. He tossed three innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out four, and walking zero. Etchison took the loss for Daleville. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run, three hits, and walking one.
Barber went 0-for-1 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.
Smith went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Daleville in hits. Daleville was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Williams made the most plays with four.
