Trojans Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Lapel
Trojans grabbed an early lead on its way to a 14-1 victory over Lapel on Wednesday. Trojans scored on a home run by Cameron Tabor and a single by Emily Gundy in the first inning.
Trojans took an early lead in the first inning. Trojans scored two runs when Cameron Tabor homered with one out in the first inning.
Trojans scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Alicen Burris, a single by Mariah Nicholson, a single , a error, and a double by Mackayla Huckeby.
Gabby Perdew earned the win for Trojans. She went four innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, and striking out one. Bousman took the loss for Lapel. She tossed five innings, allowing 14 runs, 13 hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Trojans had 13 hits in the game. Nicholson, Emily Gundy, Haylie Graham, and Burris each collected multiple hits for Trojans. Nicholson led Trojans with three hits in four at bats. Trojans was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Emily Smith had the most chances in the field with five.
Cline led Lapel with one run batted in. She went 1-for-2 on the day.
