Welch Drives in Four as Trojans Defeats Knightstown
Trojans defeated Knightstown 9-3 on Monday thanks in part to Garrett Welch, who drove in four runners. Welch drove in runs on a groundout in the second and a home run in the third.
Trojans grabbed an early lead. Trojans scored on a groundout by Garrett Welch in the second inning and a single by Janson Anderson in the second inning.
Trojans took an early lead in the first inning. Nathan Hacker’s sac fly scored one run for Trojans.
Trojans scored three runs in the third inning. Trojans scored its runs on a home run by Welch.
Hacker earned the win for Trojans. He tossed seven innings, allowing three runs, five hits, and striking out 11. Burton took the loss for Knightstown. He went five innings, giving up eight runs, nine hits, and striking out two.
Trojans had 11 hits in the game. Welch, Anderson, and Drew Barber each collected multiple hits for Trojans.
Mcroberts led Knightstown with two hits in four at bats.
