Trojans Loses Lead Early in Defeat
Trojans watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-5 loss to Connersville on Tuesday. Connersville scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Crank in the first inning, a single by Garrison in the first inning, a error in the first inning, and a double by Cerqua in the second inning.
Trojans took an early lead in the first inning. Trojans scored one run when Logan Cline singled with two outs in the first inning.
Connersville took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first there was an error, scoring one run, Crank singled off of Devin Brummett, driving in one run, Garrison singled off of Brummett, driving in one run, and there was an error, scoring one run.
Trojans scored four runs in the fifth inning. Trojans scored on a fielder’s choice by Rylan Huntley, a walk by Triston Chesher, a double , and a walk by Jordan Mantor.
Brummett took the loss for Trojans. He went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs, seven hits, and striking out four.
Cline and Huntley each drove in one run to lead Trojans. Trojans tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Mantor led the way with three.
Connersville had eight hits in the game. Garrison and Crank each collected multiple hits for Connersville.
