Trojans Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Wapahani
Trojans and Wapahani traded the lead back-and-forth on Friday, but eventually Trojans prevailed 13-3. Trojans took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at three with Trojans batting in the bottom of the fifth when Hannah Buchanan induced Olivia Neal to ground out, but one run scored.
Trojans secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the fifth inning. Trojans’s big inning was driven by a double by Mariah Nicholson, a groundout by Olivia Neal, a single by Emily Smith, a double by Alicen Burris, a single by Mackayla Huckeby, a double by Cameron Tabor, a walk , a error, and a walk by Smith.
Wapahani captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Kelsie Patton scored one run for Wapahani.
Huckeby earned the win for Trojans. She went one-third of an inning, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Hannah Buchanan took the loss for Wapahani. She tossed four and a third innings, allowing 11 runs, ten hits, and striking out one.
Patton started the game for Trojans. She tossed four and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out two.
Trojans collected ten hits. Tabor, Nicholson, and Neal each collected multiple hits for Trojans. Burris, Neal, Tabor, and Smith each drove in two runs to lead Trojans. Trojans didn’t commit a single error in the field. Alyssa Semler had the most chances in the field with four.
