Game Recap

The Lady Trojans battled for 80 minutes with host Richmond but fell 0-1 in the Sectional Championship Saturday afternoon. Every Trojan that played gave tremendous effort from whistle to whistle and left nothing to question in terms of their heart and determination. The Trojans, as was the case in finishing 12-6-1, were competitive from start to finish, led by seniors Cassie Underwood, Sarah Downs, Grace Catron, Nina Pansy, and Janessa George. Juniors Gabbi Sorrell and Macy Broyles played exceptionally well as did Sophomore Grace Smith. Freshmen Mackenzie Dolce, Abby Hamilton, Lauren Ayers, Megan Mills, and Sarah Gerth continued to shine and give hope for the future of Lady Trojan Soccer. The Trojans distinquished themselves in many ways in 2016, with one of the state’s best defenses, but more importantly playing 19 games without a yellow card infraction, showing that they not only possessed the skills to play , but the character and class to represent their school and community with integrity and pride. Coach Burger and Coach Brooke look forward to getting to work to add numbers to the program and provide opportunities for improvement. The coaches and players appreciate the support they received from the school, students, parents and community throughout the season.
