Meet Recap
With rainy conditions quickly becoming the norm for the New Castle Trojan cross country teams, the boys looked to once again battle the muddy conditions competing at the Yorktown “Jim Leffler” Cross Country Invitational. After watching the girls compete in a downpour of rain, the boys toed the line on a course that was soft and slick. Despite this, the boys team competed well placing 4th overall with 117 points. Leading the way for the Trojans was senior Chris Graham. Chris steadily moved up through the field placing 15th overall in a time of 17:48. Also finishing in the top 20 was sophomore Britton Adkins in 19th place with a time of 18:00. Junior Trevor Ragle continued his strong running by coming in shortly after Britton placing 23rd overall in a season best time of 18:10. Rounding out the top 5 were senior Jeff Melton (31st in 18:42) and sophomore Jaycee Wilburn (33rd in 18:43). Sophomore Ben Brock (PR of 19:13) and freshman Trey Williams (PR of 19:54) finished out the Trojan 7 in 49th place and 64th place, respectively.
Upon completion of the varsity boys race, the JV race finished out the Trojans day at Yorktown.
