Winter weather has wreaked havoc on the schedule, causing postponements of three of the past four games including Westfield (1/18), Huntington North (1/25), and New Palestine (1/28). This has created a loaded month of February, with the Trojans slated to play nine games in a month, starting with a trip to Rushville on Saturday, February 1st. Another longstanding rivarly, New Castle has come out on top more often then not over the past 20 years, winning eighteen of the past twenty meetings, including last year’s 62-53 victory. Rushville’s last victory over the Trojans was on January 29th, 2011, when they overcame New Castle 53-51 in overtime.
Rushville is coming off three consecutive losses to Franklin, East Central, and Mt. Vernon. Just like New Castle, Rushville has defeated Blue River, but lost to Connersville and Mt. Vernon, setting up what should be another thriller for the Trojans.
This has been a fun Trojan team to watch, one that has been relentless and has put themselves in a position to win nearly every game. On Saturday night, make the short trip to Rushville to cheer on the Trojans!
