Competing in the Hoosier Heritage Conference tournament for the first time, New Castle was fifth of eight schools. Team scores were Pendleton 381.5, Yorktown 358, Mount Vernon 291, Delta 250, New Castle 249, Greenfield 243.5, New Palestine 217 and Shelbyville 85.
New Castle had three second-place finishes: Megan Millikan in diving, Courtney Barr in the 50 freestyle and Hannah Hawrot in backstroke.
Other Trojans placing in the top of of their events were Caroline Warner in the 200 freestyle, Hawrot in the individual medley, Caitlin Becraft in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Kailey Mink in the 500 freestyle, and three relay teams: the medley relay team of Becraft, Katie Larson, Taylor Kelsik and Reagan McCarty; and the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams of Warner, Hawrot, Barr and Becca Foster.
Greenfield won and New Castle was eighth. Team scores were Greenfield 446.5, Mount Vernon 309.5, Yorktown 306, Pendleton 275, Delta 240, New Palestine 178, Shelbyville 168.5, and New Castle 134.5.
Brayton Helderbrand had the best placings for the Trojan boys. He was fourth in the individual medley and breaststroke with lifetime best times in each. Kenton Durham tied for sixth in the backstroke.
