The New Castle Girls Cross Country team competed in the Blackford Cross Country Invitational in the Large School Division on Saturday, Sept. 14th. New Castle placed 7th with 151 points slightly behind Delta with 140 points. The Team was led by senior Kaitlin Frost with a lifetime best 21:07 in 20th place overall. Every girl today ran either a lifetime or season best time. Marybell Molina, Catherine Brock, and Kristin Nicholson all broke 23 minutes for the first time. Savanah Martin ran the best race of her career dropping her time by 1:54. Becca Foster and Kendra Brammer both ran season best times while fighting nagging injury type issues.In the JV race freshmen Meghan Dubinger and Shelby Mills had outstanding races with Meghan 6th dropping 1:42 and Shelby 9th running a very smart first high school race in 23:55.

The Trojan Girls are now 29-28 for the season and will compete next in their home New Castle Invitational on Tuesday evening Sept. 17th in Memorial Park starting at 5:15pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
