The New Castle boys cross country team competed at the super-competitive Marion Invitational on Saturday and the Trojans placed 14th out of 19 teams in the Big School division. Leading the way for the Trojans was senior Sam Willis who placed 24th with a time of 16:42. Other Trojans running were junior Patrick Calvert (66th), freshman Jeff Melton (87th), sophomore Hunter Rose (96th), junior Justin Burkholder (98th), senior Devin Solomon (101st) and sophomore Bronson Dye (105th).

In the Junior Varsity race, freshman Chris Graham was the 1st Trojan to cross the finish line by placing 59th in 19:09. Also running in the JV race was senior Ross Schmeisser, Tyler Vance, Hayden McIlwain and Robbie Lamb.

Out of the 12 Trojans, nine had All-Time Personal Best times and two runners had Season Best Times.

The Trojans are now 27-22 on the season and their next meet is Saturday at the Blackford Invitational.
