Meet Recap

The morning of Saturday, April 15 the NC Boys Track & Field Team traveled to Indianapolis to compete in the Park Tudor Small School Showcase against 13 other teams.
 
Edgewood won the meet with a score of 106.5 points.  New Castle placed eighth with a score of 28 points.  The top 8 places in each event scored in the meet.  Complete results from the meet can be found at the following link:

Saturday morning was warmer weather than the team had competed in previously this outdoor season which proved challenging for some athletes.  The Trojans had several solid efforts and personal best performances.
 
Sophomore Jaycee Wilburn was the NC athlete of the meet completing in 3 events and posting solid marks in all three.  Jaycee ran a 2:13.15 800 meter split in the first leg of the 4×800 relay, a 57.44 seconds 400 meter split in the 4×400 relay, and finally a 54.74 seconds 400 in the sprint medley relay.  Junior Trevor Ragle posted 2 personal bests during the meet, starting off with the 4×800 meter relay and ending with the 1200 meter run posting marks of 2:14.15 and 3:43.68 respectively.  Senior Chris Graham ran his second personal best of the week in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:51.90 which was faster than the 4:52.76 he ran a few days earlier at Greenfield on Tuesday.  Sophomore Britton Adkins placed sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.93. 
 
Two NC relays placed fourth in the meet.  Those were the 4×800 relay consisting of Wilburn, Ben Brock, Ragle, and Jeff Melton and the Sprint Medley Relay consisting of Uriah Howe (100 meters), Trey Williams (100 meters), Andrew Cross (200 meters), Jaycee Wilburn (400 meters).
 
In the throws Senior Wyatt Jester lead the way with a fifth place in the Shot Put with a toss of 40 feet .25 inches followed by Evan Hosea in twelfth in a distance of 36 feet 6.25 inches.  Junior Tommy Witham placed eighth in the Discus by throwing 110 feet 7 inches followed by Evan Hosea in eleventh with a toss of 95 feet 4.5 inches.
